To Our Guests and Friends,
It is with a
great deal of sadness to inform you that we will be closing Seine River Resort
for the 2008 year. This has been a
difficult decision with the occasional tear being shed. We have operated the resort for 21 years
continuously. Having many of you come
back year after year was a significant part of our life and a “rite of
spring”. Both Susan and I would like to
continue running the resort, but we feel that current health issues make it
impossible to do this and maintain the resort as we would like. The good news is that our health issues may
be temporary. If our health improves we
are committed to running the resort again.
While it is possible that we may feel better in the spring of 2008, we
strongly feel that it is inappropriate to leave you, our guests and friends,
without a place to go fishing in a last-minute decision. We will be reviewing our situation every fall
and will make a decision about the upcoming year every December. This will be posted on our website http://www.seineriverresort.com
every December for the upcoming year.
One of the most difficult aspects of
this decision is that we cannot recommend to you a similar replacement
resort. As you are well aware, Seine
River Resort is an extraordinarily quiet and safe environment. You come to our resort to relax, fish, and do
your own thing in a setting that is devoid of hustle and bustle, constant
background noise, phones-e-mails-text messaging, children playing-crying, etc. We simply do not know of a relatively
identical place that exists in our area.
We want to wish you all the very best in the
coming months and look forward to seeing you again in the future.
